| My name is Richard Schroeder
and I am happy to write a few words about the services provided by Lindsay
and Kathleen Widsten at islandRENT.
I live and operate a distribution business on the mainland and have no time to devote to my Nanaimo real estate rentals. Since 1992, I have purchased 5 single family homes through Lindsay. He has provided effective, professional rental management for all of them. I can make this statement with some authority because I have had both, good and bad experiences with property managers handling other industrial and residential properties for me. The Widstens at islandRENT are definitely at the top of my list. They treat each of my homes as though it is their own property. They have been particularly effective at screening good quality tenants and keeping the homes rented. I have had very few vacancies and virtually no tenant damage. Minimizing repair and maintenance expenses is another value-added service they provide. No owner/investor wants to spend more than they need to on maintenance. Lindsay’s years of building and real estate experience ensure that we don’t over-pay for work done, and also that we don’t miss doing the repairs that are really needed. Proper bookkeeping and banking is handled for me. I better not write any more nice things or my management fees might go up.
